Lakeview's complete therapy team includes Occupational, Speech, Physical, and Respiratory therapies. The goal of our Rehabilitation Therapy Team, is to have the resident return to the highest independent level of functioning possible. Independence may include areas of dressing and grooming, ambulation or wheel chair propulsion, and the ability to communicate. Modalities to facilitate these goals may include massage, ultrasound, paraffin baths, thermal and tactile stimulation of muscle groups.
Each program is individualized to meet the specific needs of each person, with education of the resident and family being an important part. Our Respiratory Therapists can provide aerosolized medication therapy, broncho-pulmonary hygiene, artificial airway management and oxygen therapy. We also provide education on self management of chronic airway disease to our residents and their families. Our ultimate goal is to have the residents return to their previous living environment.
